If Fashion Was An Oscar Category, Lady Gaga Would’ve Won

Who expected Lady Gaga to be nominated for Best Actress at the Oscars 2022 for House of Gucci. Her 51M following on Instagram, you, and I. On Tuesday, February 8, the Academy in Los Angeles announced the nominees for the March 2022 Oscars and our expectations were dashes. Rage rose among fans, triggering conversations online as one name was nowhere to be found on the list.

But with the new hope that the film industry brings (and Lady Gaga’s outfits, too), we assure that if there was an Oscar for fashion, she wouldn’t step out of Dolby Theatres without an award. We also heard Lady Gaga practised her House of Gucci accent for nine months, the same commitment with which she walked red carpets across cities to create some big fashion moments we’re applauding today.

Cameras flashing on the red carpet of the first film premiere in London, Lady Gaga was captured in her pompous pose in a dress from none other than brand in the talk — Gucci, obviously. Before the screening of Ridley Scott’s two-and-a-half-hour film, the cast appeared in a resplendent sequence with Gaga wearing a dark violet silk chiffon pleated cape gown from Gucci Love Parade. She accentuates the dress with geometric skin-revealing stockings and *really* high platform boots.

That brings us to the second premiere in Milan where Lady Gaga wore a custom Versace column gown made from enver silk satin. The dress was inspired by designs from the luxury house’s Spring-Summer 1995 collection and highlights the corset top, long slit and a continued trail that Gaga complements with red stilettoes.

Landing in New York for the next premiere, Lady Gaga wore a floor-length velvet black dress with a knotted halter neck. The boldness of the Giorgio Armani gown and red lip reveal Lady Gaga’s character as an influential woman not only in the film but also outside of it. After all, she did her best to keep up Patrizia Reggiani’s fame.

Lastly, for the Los Angeles premiere, Lady Gaga opted for a bustier gown entirely embroidered with iridescent silver sequins from Valentino’s Code Temporal Collection from Haute Couture Spring-Summer 2021. To everyone's surprise, she landed with her hair cut short and patent smokey eyes.
