• 250gm split green gram (moong daal)
  • 1 teaspoon ghee
  • 30gms garlic, chopped
  • 150gms onions, chopped
  • 1 1/2 tsp ginger, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon green chilli, chopped
  • 200gm green peas
  • 60gm tomatoes, chopped
  • 1/2 tbsp coriander powder
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1 tsp garam masala powder
  • 1 tbsp lime juice
  • A Few ginger juliennes
  • 1 tsp coriander leaves, chopped
  • Salt to taste


  • Wash green gram properly & soak for 1 hour. Drain and fry the gram till it turns a light golden colour.
  • Heat ghee, add chopped garlic and chopped onions and Fry to a golden brown colour. Add ginger, green chillies and toss.
  • Add green peas and fry lightly. Add chopped tomatoes and fry. Then add coriander powder, turmeric powder, red chilli powder and stir.
  • Add fried green gram in this masala, with 1 cup of water and mix well. Simmer for some time. Add salt, garam masala powder and lime juice.
  • Garnish with ginger juliennes and chopped coriander leaves.
  • Serve with phulkas or plain rice
