Though we love talking about body positivity, somewhere deep down inside, most of us want to look thinner than we usually are. And, this thought is common amongst men and women, but hey, accepting your body image aside, there is nothing bad or negative in wanting to look fit in the clothes that you flaunt daily. If you often check yourself out in the mirror to see what looks best on you or what makes you look thin, they here are some simple style hacks you can try to look fit in the clothes you don’t.
Wear dark hues
It's not rocket science and you ought to know the plain rule of styling - light colours make you look wider and dark shades make you look fitter. Pick anything from blues, black, reds, greens and so on and avoid lighter hues like whites, pinks, creams etc.
Accessorise well
If you are wearing the best shoes in the room or the best shades, no one will care to notice your slight belly or wide thighs. Just learn to accessorise well.
Go big on prints
Prints do a wonderful job in camouflaging body mass. You can opt for floral prints, classic checks and walk in with confidence in that room full of people.
Try layering
Keep a jacket, waist coat or a blazer always handy. Maybe you can hang one next to the backseat of your car. And, when it's time to hangout with friends, simply wear a layer of clothes together. It's trendy and cool!
Go for vertical stripes
Whether in shirts, tees or trousers, experiment with vertical stripes as they are brilliant at creating an optical illusion that'll make you look taller and thinner that you are in real life.
