As expected, Manish Malhotra’s line-up for the season saw some party-ready numbers—our vote goes to the gold sequinned sari that came with a deep neck satin blouse. Amit Aggarwal collaborated with Reliance Industries Limited’s textile arm, R-Elan, to create a sustainable collection. This one included a pre-draped sari as the showstopper outfit, which was worn by Lisa Haydon on the runway. Diana Penty stepped out in a black and white sari by Abraham & Thakore, Arpita Mehta gave her stamp of approval to ruffles with breezy printed saris featuring ruffled pallus and hemlines, and Punit Balana showcased bright bandhini that are sure to make it to every millennial’s ethnic wardrobe.

The runways also saw some out-of-the-box numbers this time around. Saaksha & Kinni’s printed sari was paired with an unusual top, showcasing an easy way to channel print-on-print. Jayanti Reddy's pista green sari came with a sheer embroidered top that was worn over the drape, while Ridhi Mehra’s peach pre-draped number featured a multi-layered hemline that’s perfect for women who want to make a statement.
