India’s first homegrown private members’ work and social lifestyle club The Quorum, organised a spell-binding fashion evening with National Award-winning Designer, Nachiket Barve. The event was titled Decoding Design with Nachiket Barve. In this event, Nachiket showcased his latest womenswear collection Ephemera at The Quorum’s Alley, which was also showcased in the Lakme Fashion Week 2022. While the collection celebrated femininity, the event also featured Nachiket as his candid-self, wherein, he shared his life journey from being a commerce student to taking his first job at Burger King in New Zealand to becoming a National Award-winning Designer.
While addressing individuals from fashion, styling, film, and other spaces, he explained, that as a costume designer, his job is to make the audience forget the actors that they have known and loved for decades, and convincingly make them believe that they are actually watching a man from the era shown in the movie. Talking about his design philosophy, he mentioned that he collects inspiration from his travels, diverse cultures, as well as, from his maiden design, whichstill reflects in some of his latest collections. “Fashion is a game of concealing and revealing; one can conceal their flaws and highlight their best features, as each of us has something that makes us unique and beautiful, and fashion enables us to feel unapologetic about our uniqueness,” he adds while talking about his design inspirations.

In July 2022, Nachiket won a National Award for Best Costume Design for his work in Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior. He has also designed the costumes for Prabhas and Kriti Sanon in the highly-anticipated Ramayana-inspired film, Adi Purush.

The vibrant evening ended with an energetic live band performance at its Member’s Lounge.
