Creative director of Satya Paul, designer Rajesh Pratap Singh reimagined Satya Paul the way no one would have ever thought. The designer turned it into a Gen Z label with the coolest and quirkiest streetwear looks, keeping saris as the mainstay. The collection, titled New Order reminded us about the power of art, the desire to return to nature and to be free.

Khanijo and Antar Agni

Khanijo’s collection was a metaphor for the never-ending show, presented through a mish mash of handlooms, indigenous embroideries, artisanal textiles into handcrafted pieces celebrating Indian craftsmanship in an artful streetwear collection.

Antar Agni presented a new expression of the brand’s design aesthetic through graphic prints and bold colours complementing the layers and silhouettes, brought together in a story of the paradoxes of minimalism and maximalism.
Diksha’s trans-seasonal, fluid Womenswear line showcases traditional costumes and nuances, interpreted in insightful shapes, and dexterous detailing, making ensembles, mostly androgynous. She goes back to the roots to explore eco-printing, to extract the natural beauty of plants and foliage.
Divyam Mehta took a poetic spin on the Dongria Kondh tribe silhouettes that reflect a rural life, culture and simple living, in tune with nature. The fabrics came from AltMat, an enterprise that develops textiles from agricultural waste. Drapes, hybrid patterns, hand tailoring, kantha work are some of the key elements of this capsule collection.

Khadi India

The showcase featured khadi ensembles by several leading Indian designers and will also go on to make history as it features the first ever khadi presentation in the country by an international designer. The show, divided into two segments, will first feature ensembles by French designer Mossi Traoré and the second segment will include collections by India’s top designers viz. Abhishek Gupta Benares, Anavila, Anju Modi, Charu Parashar and Rina Dhaka.

Designer Payal Pratap, celebrated for her timeless pieces and eco-sensitive approach to design, showcased her latest collection JAVA made from Bemberg yarn at the upcoming edition of FDCI X Lakmé Fashion Week. This unique showcase will bring together age-old crafts and contemporary sustainable materials.

The outfits were conceived in order to be able to use at least three different layers each one by itself, allowing prolonged use and diverse matching in search of maximum circularity. Sustainability continues being her strong focus and with the aim of making it transparent also to her final customers, they were traced all processes through Blockchain in order to make it clear and certain.
